Jason Bourne: Stunt Spectacular
On the edge of Hong Kong, camouflaged by the facade of a Hong Kong city block, is the Jason Bourne Stunt Spectacular. Whis action packed adventure takes guests behind the scenes of one of the most famous action thriller film series - The Bourne Series. During this attraction, guests are on set to watch the production of a 'new' Bourne film, located primarily in Hong Kong, where Bourne (played by Matt Damon) is on the run from Mongolian mobsters looking to extract revenge for a prior encounter with the assassin. We pick up on one of the action stunt days of filming, and during the 25 minute show, guests learn about the technology and movie-magic of how action films are brought to life.
Using a variety of actors, cars, motorbikes, and stunt doubles - this scene that you will watch is the climax of an action scene. The mobsters have located Bourne's hideout in Hong Kong, and are pursuing him at his apartment. The scene involves a shootout along the side of a building exterior, Bourne working his way down the building, taking out the mobsters, and driving away in a vehicle. The mobsters follow him and end up causing him to skid out of the street and into a marketplace, where the special effects crew takes over and explains the process of controlled explosions. The finale is on motorcycles when Bourne escapes and speeds through the streets of Hong Kong on a motorcycle, and the grand finale is a large explosion where the mobsters collide with their own and Bourne escapes. At the end of the 3 stage demonstration of how the scene is produced, who the stunt doubles are, how the Special effects work, and the procedure of filming it, the cameras begin rolling and the scene is put on display in a dazzlingly display of acrobatics, explosions, and a memorable finale.
The show typically takes place 3 times per day and has a capacity of 3,500 guests for the amphitheater.
